What's new in RoseMail 1.60:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Fixed possible problem with truncated session.txt file
- Fixed problem with strange character appearing when wrapping in sysop
chat
- Added conference flag to allow aliases (RoseMail does not check the
FROM name when inserting a message in the specific conferences)
(Conference flag #12)
- Point to point mail ACROSS supported networks.
Point to point must be set up in 'Local board information'. Your
system name must be entered (and must be entered in the REGISTER door on
Rose Media in EXACTLY the same). You also need to specify the
conference number that will be used for point to point mail and the
directory where your mapdat.* files will be stored. Point to point
messages MUST BE ORIGINALLY ENTERED IN RR AND UPLOADED OR RRS.
RoseMail uses intelligent mapping to send the messages in the shortest
route possible between the points.
- Added conference flag #13 to ignore PCBoard private flag. This can be
used to make a conference accessible only in RoseMail. (This is a good
idea for the point to point conference). This flag only overrides the
private flag but still maintains all other conference access checking
(security level, etc).
- Added ability for the MAPDAT and MAPDAT.NDX to automatically be sent
to neighbouring systems when they are updated.
If you call into a system to get mail:
a) if you are closer to Rose Media then the system you call (ie.
you get the new map from another system/caller and send it on
to the called system), set the 'MAP' option in 'Available
networks' in RM.
b) If the other system gets the new map before you, use the
RoseMail online command 'ADD' to select 'M'ap files.
If in doubt, you can do both without any problem.
- Fixed minor cosmetic problem in RM available network screen.
- Modified RMs detection of bad messages and improved handling of
corrupted messages to recover from the problem.
- Added support for magazines. Magazines are set up using the
'magazines' option of the main menu of RM. They can be accessed using
the online 'MAG' command of RoseMail. Magazines can be viewed with
RoseReader.
- Improved RoseMail's methods of uncompressing the REP packets to
increase speed. (especially time required AFTER upload)
- Fixed problem where some messages would not be recorded at the end of
the RM netmail logs.
- Modified RoseMail compression check routines to allow for the use of
LHARC, LHA. Use ID 'FF' in 'compression programs' in RM.
- Support for a trashcan file. Messages to/from users in the trashcan
will be rejected. (In both RM inserts and RoseMail uploads)... This
can keep certain unwanted people off of the networks.
- Fixed problem where conferences were added to PCBoard without RoseMail
being told (looking at conference information in RM) could cause a
conference to belong to netmail-networks and have unpredicatable
conference flags (which could cause unwanted force scanning).
- Fixed problem where uploading files greater than 1MB would be lost.
- Modified the 'NET' command so that networks that do not have a valid
network address or do not have a compression program selected will not
appear on the list of networks. This allows SysOps to hide reserved
networks (1 to 10) that they do not carry.
